A fun, dynamic, rigorous practice that combines fitness moves with the strengthening and lengthening benefits of yoga poses and cardio intervals. It promotes a strong core, long and lean muscle mass, fat burning, improved circulation as well as flexibility to facilitate supportive balance for the entire physique. Yoga Sculpt is usually performed on a yoga mat in a heated room but at SDYF we will practice under the beautiful San Diego sun! All movements are low to mid impact, which protects your joints and muscles from the pounding of other exercises like running and jumping and it’s an all-levels class so everyone is welcome to join and do as much as you can!

Led by: Ana is the founder and co-owner of Namaste Fitness along with her husband. She is a 500-Hr certified Yoga Teacher, BootyBarre™ and bbarreless™ instructor, TRX and Pilates Suspension Method instructor, Kids Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, Rocket Yoga,Yoga Wall, Pre and Post-natal Yoga, Connected Warriors, Pilates and Yoga Sculpt certified instructor as well. This along with her International Business Degree both from San Diego State University and UABC Tijuana.
Her passion for helping others in their wellness journey comes from her love for her family. After having her second child in 2013 and leaving her corporate job to be a full-time mom, she started practicing Yoga with the intention to get back in shape, but she quickly realized that yoga is not just about the physical but the emotional and spiritual connection and growth too. It helped her discover her purpose to inspire others to live a healthy, clean and mindful life which is the key to happiness.

This calming + restoring class will leave you feeling peaceful, relaxed and calm. The practice is gentle, focused at restoring the body, bringing relaxation and peace to the mind and soothing the emotions. We will move simply and gently, slowly restoring the body. Movements will be mindful and focus on releasing the tension and stress that is built up in the body. Students should come to this class to [try to] to relax [we know it can be hard for some of us] and feel less stressed. No experience needed.

Conscious Body Alchemy

Learn to recognize the physical manifestation of emotions and transform that emotional energy into movement and vocalization. This emotional energy often goes undetected and shows up in distraction techniques such as eating and mindless scrolling. Using the practice of Conscious Body Alchemy you will learn to read emotional maps encoded in physical body sensation. You will be guided to follow these maps to release emotions from the body by alchemizing their energy into movement, breath and vocalization. Aided by asanas (yoga stretches) chosen specifically to reach areas of deep tension, you will find your physical edge and explore the emotions stored deep within tight hamstrings, shoulders and hips. This class is suited for all levels and requires no specific experience, flexibility or fitness level, only an open mind and a willingness to express that which is stored within.
Led by: Melanie Ezell is the Author of “Weight Is Not the Problem: A Non-Diet Approach to the Alchemy of Physical Transformation”. She holds certifications as a nutritionist, personal trainer, yoga instructor and meditation teacher. She is a survivor of stage IV ovarian cancer. She lives with her husband and son in Hawaii where she coaches people who are ready to end the war with their bodies and weight. In her free time she teaches yoga and surfs waves big enough to scare her.

She has always been drawn to building community and was inspired to create her own yoga lifestyle brand called Wolf & Lion. This class is guided by channeled intuition, providing a safe and playful space of healing for all levels of practitioners to receive messages of their own Divine Intuition. The practice emphasizes settling into peaceful cooperation of all levels of your consciousness by mindfully moving through traditional Asana. You will be skillfully led through postures to meet your body where it is. Participants are encouraged to follow their bodies intuition and to explore in the sacred container of practice created by the community. The class will include a suggested intention to guide your self discovery; meditation connecting your consciousness to body, breath, and spirit; intentionally paced flow; and close with a state of peaceful letting go and rebirth.

You will be guided through a brief asana practice to drop into your body, get comfortable and cover your eyes to prepare for an expansive 30 minute breathwork journey to meet your Higher Self. Your subconscious mind will reveal what is blocking you from embodying your Higher Self, which we will clear using the power of breath. You will receive powerful downloads of what intuitive action steps to take toward manifesting your Higher Self vision and leave the session clear, calm, and with a roadmap toward embodying your Higher Self. If you have something to cover your eyes, please bring it.

Moving from corporate life as a television producer in New York City to teaching yoga and meditation full time in 2014, John possesses a unique mix of being a quick thinking leader and a carefully listening student. John aims to honor the tradition of yoga and its teaching while infusing elements of quantum physics and laughter in his classes. Expect classes to be skillfully layered for all levels, infused with theme and intention, and always a lot of fun! Founder of Q Yoga, SoCal Wellness Retreats and SoCal Workplace Wellness, John leads impactful wellness retreats locally in San Diego as well as in Bali and Costa Rica. John offers his time as a mentor to new teachers, teaches free classes in his community and works with the local food bank in San Diego. His rescue dog Lola is his biggest fan!

Diana’s yoga journey began in 2008, after a bad neck and back injury from a car accident. At that time, she was looking for ways to help remedy the pain and learned about the benefits of yoga. After practicing yoga for 3 weeks, the pain went away and she was hooked. Yoga not only enhanced my flexibility and strength, it also nurtured her spirituality, compassion, and happiness. This experience changed her life and gave her a new sense of purpose: to become an instructor and share this healing gift with others.
She received her 200-hour certification in 2012, during which time she attended multiple trainings to learn how to teach different formats so as to broaden her knowledge and reach all types of audiences. Vinyasa, yin, sculpt, hatha, bootcamp, mommy & me yoga, restorative yoga, gentle yoga, barre, and reiki are just a few of the many formats of health and fitness that she has certifications and experience in.
Words of encouragement and inspiration are a staple in Diana’s classes. Her goal is to leave you as excited and passionate about yoga as she is, while feeling motivated and challenged in your practice.

Transmission Meditation is a combination of Karma and Laya yogas which accomplishes the effects of Kriya yoga as a side benefit. As a group world service meditation, the two great paths to enlightenment - meditation and service - fuse together to enable participants to make rapid progress on the path. A year of Transmission Meditation done regularly is said to be equivalent to 5-20 years of normal intense spiritual practice.
Led by: John McNab has participated and facilitated a Transmission Meditation group for 30 years. He had meditation with the person who brought Transmission Meditation to the public, Benjamin Creme, regularly up to the time of Mr. Creme's passing. Transmission Meditation is held three times weekly in the Golden Hill neighborhood of San Diego and is always free.

In this class, participants will be guided to develop a healthier, kinder relationship to their bodies using Internal Family Systems and somatic tools. They will learn practical, new ways to be more in tune with the messages their bodies are communicating, so that they can feel more relaxation and confidence. Participants will walk away feeling less in battle with their bodies and more befriended to their bodies.
Led by: Stacia Aashna is an Embodiment Coach, who is certified in Internal Family Systems for individuals and couples. She is also a licensed clinical hypnotherapist and meditation teacher. Stacia's childhood challenges inspired her to seek a more meaningful life and now she helps others to do the same.
